


1. The 36th Meeting of the ASEAN Single Window Steering Committee (ASWSC) was officially inaugurated on 21st April 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The Meeting is hosted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance and Economy, and was officiated by Yang Mulia Haji Mohammad Mu’inuddin Chin bin Abdur Rahman, Acting Controller of Customs.
2. In his welcoming remarks, Acting Controller of Customs underscored the importance of continued cooperation among ASEAN customs administrations in addressing evolving geopolitical and economic challenges. He highlighted the need to facilitate trade, promote inclusive and rules-based practices, and strengthen supply chain resilience, supported by digitalization and technology advancement.
3. The meeting will deliberate on advancing the ASEAN Single Window (ASW), including its next phase under ASW 2.0, as well as strengthening engagement with Dialogue Partners on Single Window cooperation, and supporting Timor-Leste’s participation in the ASW.
4. Chaired by Ms. Angie Teo, Assistant Director-General of Singapore Customs, the Meeting is conducted in a hybrid format, with participation from 11 ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, and ASEAN Dialogue Partners.
