1. Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Mu’inuddin Chin bin Abdur Rahman, Deputy Controller of Customs, along with senior officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), Ministry of Finance, attended the APEC Customs Business Dialogue held from 21-22 August 2026 in Dalian, China.
2. Over the course of two days, the APEC Customs-Business Dialogue facilitated constructive engagement among customs authorities, businesses, and international organizations on the challenges facing modern border management. Particular emphasis was placed on achieving greater trade efficiency without compromising regulatory objectives, including food safety, revenue protection, consumer interests, and security.
3. Brunei Darussalam was among the speakers at the dialogue, where it presented its experience in customs modernization and digital transformation, highlighting key initiatives undertaken to facilitate trade while strengthening border security and regulatory effectiveness.
4. The next APEC Customs-Business Dialogue is scheduled to be hosted by Viet Nam in 2027, as the host economy of APEC.
