Passenger Concession

Personal Effect

Pursuant to the Second Schedule, Part B, No. 9 of Customs Import Duties Order, 2007, passengers aged 17 years and above arriving to this country are allowed to bring in their personal effect not exceeding the given concession as follows:

 

      • Personally, used items;
      • Perfume not exceeding 60 milliliters; and
      • Eau de toilette or scented water not exceeding 250 milliliters.
Cigarette/Tobacco
    • There is no personal concession granted for importing cigarettes into Brunei Darussalam. Any person importing cigarettes into this country must declare such goods and it is subject to an excise duty of BND0.50 per stick.
Liquor

Alcoholic beverages of all kinds are allowed to be imported into Brunei Darussalam, subject to the limitations and conditions specified below:

 

    • Must be non-Muslim aged 17 years and above;
    • Each person can only bring in 2 bottles of liqueurs (1 litre per bottle) or beer not exceeding 12 cans (330ml per can);
    • Every importer must declare to the proper officer of customs;
    • The subsequent importation must be 48 hours from the last importation;
    • The alcoholic liquor shall for the importer’s personal use and not to be given, transferred or sold to other people;
    • The alcoholic liquor shall only be stored and consumed at the importer’s private residence.
Warning

Failure to give true and correct declaration is an offence punishable under Section 138 of Customs Order, 2006 and Section 144 of Excise Order, 2006.

Processed Food Product
  1. Each item of food imported is less or equal to 3 pieces each.
  2. The total weight of all your food items during that one particular import is less than 5kg.
  3. The total declared value of all your food items during that one particular import is less than BND100.
Cosmetic Products, Medicine and Health Supplements

Ministry of Health has introduced the threshold value for cosmetic products for personal consumption, which is BND200 for every declaration.

Imported Plants and Plant Products

The maximum quantity (per person) for imported plants and plants product are as follows:

  1. Fruits – not more than 6 kg
  2. Vegetables – not more than 6 kg
  3. Spices – not more than 6 kg
  4. Legumes – not more than 6 kg
  5. Cereals – not more than 6 kg
  6. Tubers (potato, taro, etc) – not more than 6 kg
  7. Rhizomes (ginger, turmeric, etc) – not more than 6 kg
  8. Flower Bouquet – 1 Bouquet
  9. Plant products (banana leaf, nyirik leaf, etc) – not more than 6 kg
  10. Tissue cultures – Not more than 6 flasks / jars

Imported Animal Feed

Quantity allowance for each category of animal feed are as follows:

  1. Processed chicken / livestock feed (pellets) – not more than 11 kg
  2. Pet food (dried and processed only) – not more than 11 kg
