Programme
i. Implementation of GATT Valuation System in the year 2000.
The objectives to implement GATT Valuation System are as follows:-
a) To ensure that the valuation price is according to the procedure fixed by WTO
and moreover, the most important is the countryís commitment to APEC in which GATT
Valuation is one of the agenda.
b) To prevent or avoid under or over valuation.
c) To increase the revenue.
d) To create Level Compliances among large number of importers and customs agents.
ii) Implementation of GATT Valuation programmes
a) To form a commitee on GATT Valuation.
b) Sending senior officers to attend seminar, workshop and course overseas in order
to upgrade their knowledges especially about the law and regulation of GATT Valuation.
c) "Awareness Programme" for all levels of customs officers.
iii) The implementation of "computerised permit module" in early 1999.
This include the process of applying the Appproval Permit, Import Permit and Exempted
Permit into the CCIS System.
Objective to implement "Permit" module
a) To update the control on the prohibited and restricted goods.
b) To upgrade the efficency in processing the application.
